All I kept thinking was about how Dean was being literally torn apart from the insides by dysentery. I stuck with this interpretation of who the real man was, and I think it served me well.
Any species traveling outside their own world won’t be looking for intelligent life. They’d be more like us, if we had the power to leave our solar system - they’d be looking to leave stupid life behind.

If time is a construct, then so is life. We measure what we see and feel using something we invented but can’t remotely grasp. Perhaps that explains why life is made out to be such a chore for most of us.
